Edward Dickson is the President of MSA Investigations, where he oversees all of MSAI’s investigative services.  Mr. Dickson has over 30 years of professional experience, including a 25-year career with the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

In February 2012, Mr. Dickson was appointed by Governor Chris Christie to serve as the Director of the New Jersey Office of Homeland Security and Preparedness.  Mr. Dickson’s responsibilities during his tenure included, oversight for the State of New Jersey’s counterterrorism and intelligence sharing efforts, its Emergency Preparedness and Response activities, and the protection of the state’s critical infrastructure and sensitive assets.

Prior to joining the Office of Homeland Security and Preparedness, Mr. Dickson served three years in the private sector as Director of Investigations with the New York based Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation. In this role Mr. Dickson was responsible for and directed corporate investigations, new employee background verification program, credentialing, technical security support, intelligence efforts, and the Internal Security Department’s compliance, audit, and risk requirements.

Mr. Dickson’s prior law enforcement career highlights include more than 25 years of service with the Federal Bureau of Investigation, where he held many investigative and executive management assignments.  Mr. Dickson served from 2001 through 2004 as the FBI’s Assistant Special Agent in Charge of the Newark Division’s National Security Branch immediately following the attacks of September 11, 2001.  As such, he directly oversaw the investigative efforts surrounding several major investigations including the Daniel Pearl investigation and Anthrax attacks, as well as other significant domestic terrorism and counterintelligence initiatives.  As an Inspector in the FBI’s Inspection Division, Mr. Dickson possesses significant experience in the audit, compliance, and risk management domain.  Additionally, Mr. Dickson was the Senior Executive over the FBI’s National Joint Terrorism Task Force, its Domestic Terrorism program, and the Counterterrorism Division’s Operational Support services to various Department of Defense initiatives and working groups.

Mr. Dickson has been recognized with many awards and commendations from various law enforcement entities and the Department of Justice for his achievements and leadership regarding numerous investigative matters, initiatives, and joint task force operations.

Born and raised in Chicago, Illinois, Mr. Dickson was awarded a Bachelor’s of Arts degree in Political Science from Illinois Benedictine College, in Lisle, Illinois.
